Northwest Missouri State University Student Morgan McCoy Struck and Killed at 422 N. Buchanan St.
Maryville, Missouri (January 8, 2018) – A vehicle crashed into a Maryville bar and grill Sunday afternoon in Maryville killing a 19-year-old Northwest Missouri State University student, authorities said.
The deadly accident took place at around 12:40 a.m. Sunday, January 8, at 422 N. Buchanan St. in Maryville.
According to a news release from Northwest Missouri State University, Morgan McCoy, 19, from Liberty, was walking out of The Psalms at 422 N. Buchanan St. in Maryville when she was struck by a vehicle.
McCoy suffered injuries following the crash and was rushed to a hospital where she was declared deceased, a report said.
McCoy was a sophomore elementary major, according to a news release from the University.
A toxicological test on Catterson’s blood to determine the level of alcohol registered 207 which is more than twice the legal limit, a report said
Alex A. Catterson, 21, of Maryville, the driver of the car which hit the student, taken into custody and charged with involuntary manslaughter, according to the Nodaway News reporter.
