Michael Weatherly and Megan Mckeehan both injured in Platte county wreck

On Friday, September 7, 21-year old Michael Weatherly and 34-year old Megan Mckeehan were both involved in a multi-vehicle accident on MO-152, just east of the I-435 intersection in Platte County.

The accident occurred at approximately 3 PM when Mr. Weatherly, a resident of Kansas City, apparently lost control of his 2007 Ford Mustang causing it to leave the road, cross over the median, before re-entering the roadway into on-coming traffic. Mr. Weatherly then struck Ms. Mckeehan, a resident of Lawson, head-on.

According to the official crash report, Mr. Weatherly suffered only moderate injury and had to be transported to North Kansas City Hospital for further observation and treatment. Unfortunately, Ms. Mckeehan suffered severe, life-threatening, injury and had to be rushed to that same hospital for life-saving medical intervention. As of reporting, Ms. Mckeehan was alive and in the care of city hospital staff.

Both vehicles were totally destroyed in the incident, and no other drivers or occupants were involved or injured.
