Michael Hoing, 31, Injured in 2-Vehicle Accident on I-70 in St. Charles County

St. Charles County, Missouri (January 5, 2018) – A Wentzville man sustained injuries in a vehicle crash early Friday morning in St. Charles County, according to a police report.

The accident occurred at around 4:33 a.m. on Interstate 70, east of Bryan Road.

Police said 32-year-old Ronald A. Darland of O’Fallon was driving a 2009 Pontiac G6 in one of the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70. At the same time, 31-year-old Michael J. Hoing of Wentzville was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala eastbound in a separate lane.

Darland drifted from his lane into Hoing’s lane and rear-ended the Chevrolet. The impact caused both vehicles to drive off the right shoulder of the road.

Hoing sustained moderate injuries and was transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Lake St. Louis Hospital.

No other injuries were reported.

All occupants of both cars were wearing their seatbelts.
