On Saturday, August 4, Michael, Gregory, and Aidyn Burt, all of Columbia, MO, were injured on Route O near the Route UU intersection in Boone County.
The crash began at approximately 12 PM when a Chevy trailblazer operated by Ashley Greer crossed over the center line and struck the Burt family’s Ford Escort head on.
According to the official Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, 61-year old Michael Burt suffered serious injuries in the incident and had to be taken by ambulance to University Hospital for life saving medical intervention. Both other Burts, 10 year old Aidyn and 6 year old Gregory, each suffered minor injuries and were transported via private conveyance to the same hospital.
No other drivers or occupants were injured in the incident, and all parties appear to have been wearing their safety belts at the time of the crash.
