Jefferson County, Missouri (March 4, 2018) – Two drivers were injured when their vehicles were involved in a collision on Saturday afternoon in Jefferson County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

The incident took place on Route A at Old Highway A at about 1:08 p.m. Saturday, March 3.

Troopers said Mattew Hassbaum, 17, of Barnhart, was sitting in a 2001 Ford Ranger at a stop sign on Old Highway A when a 2013 Ford Mustang traveling eastbound on Route A, entered into his path and caused the vehicles to collide.

Hassbaum and the other driver, Brandon Mareschal, 30, of Hillsboro, were both taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson with minor injuries.

Both vehicles were totaled.
