Mary Miller Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on I-29 in Platte County

Platte County, Missouri (January 17, 2018) – A Kansas City woman was hospitalized on Wednesday morning following a two-vehicle accident in Platte County, according to MSHP.

The crash occurred at around 8:55 a.m. on Interstate 29 near Mile Marker 5.6.

Troopers said Stephen V. Johnson, 69, of Parkville, was driving a 2017 Nissan Titan in the center lane of I-29.

Mary L. Miller, 57, of Kansas City, was driving a 2014 Lexus in the right lane of I-29 and ahead of Johnson.

As Johnson swerved to avoid a crash ahead of him, Miller entered the center lane and her vehicle was rear-ended by the Nissan.

Miller was wearing a seatbelt and was transported to North Kansas City Hospital with moderate injuries.

Johnson was also wearing a seatbelt and was unhurt.

No other injuries were reported.
