Maria Leonard Injured in Head-On Collision on Highway 43 in Joplin
Joplin, Missouri (February 9, 2018) – An Oklahoma woman sustained life-threatening injuries following a head-on collision which occurred in Joplin on Thursday morning, February 8.
As per a report by Joplin Police Department, the two-vehicle collision occurred on at an unspecified time in the morning on Highway 43.
Jennifer D. Dumas, 28, of Joplin, was driving her car southbound on the highway when she drifted into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a vehicle operated by Maria E. Leonard, 48, of Afton, Oklahoma.
Leonard suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash and was transported to Springfield Hospital where she was listed in critical condition.
Dumas’ condition was not disclosed.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
