Man and Woman Killed, 3 Injured in Head-On Wrong-Way Head-On Crash on County Highway R in Dodge County
Dodge County, Illinois (January 2, 2018) — A head-on collision on Sunday evening in Dodge County claimed lives of two people, according to a report from Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
The deadly crash took place at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, December 31, on County Highway R near County Highway EM in the Town of Emmet in Dodge County.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office stated that a GMC Jimmy, driven by a woman, was headed eastbound on County Highway R in the westbound lane when it hit a westbound Ford Ranger head-on, driven by a male driver east of EM.
According to authorities, a Chevrolet Trailblazer was driven westbound behind the Ford Ranger, it then struck both the Ford Ranger and the GMC Jimmy.
The driver of the GMC and driver of the Ford were both declared deceased at the incident site by the Dodge County medical examiner, authorities said.
According to a report, the Chevrolet had three occupants who were both taken to Aurora Medical Center in Summit for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries while the GMC Jimmy and the Ford had single occupants.
