Driver Killed in Deadly Union Township Crash on Route 47
Union Township, Illinois (December 22, 2017) – A 58-year-old man perished in a crash with a semi Thursday evening south of Dwight in Union Township, according to the Illinois State Police.
The fatal crash happened at precisely 6 p.m. Thursday, December 21 at 2550 North Road on Route 47
Troopers stated that a Fairbury man was headed south before his vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a westbound semitrailer.
The man died at the scene.
The semi driver was not injured in the crash.
ISP is investigating the cause of the fatal event.
