Man Airlifted in Two-Vehicle Crash at Laraway and LaGrange Roads in Frankfort

Frankfort, Illinois (December 20, 2017) – According to the Frankfort authorities, a man was flown in a two-vehicle collision Monday night in Frankfort.

The crash took place at about 10:50 p.m. Monday, December 18 at Laraway Road and LaGrange Road.

Troopers stated that the side of the car was hit by a semi-trailer driving both vehicles into the traffic light pole in the southeast corner of the intersection.

The man driving the car was finally extricated from his vehicle at about 1 a.m. and was conscious at the time. He was flown by LifeStar Helicopter to Christ Hospital iFrankfort Semi Crashn Oak Lawn. He was in a stable condition as of Tuesday afternoon.

Frankfort Fire Protection District stayed at the incident scene until 2:40 a.m. Tuesday, December 19.

The driver of the semi was cited for not obeying a traffic control signal.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
