On Sunday, June 17, two tractor-trailers became involved in a traffic accident on I-70 at milepost 113 in Cumberland county, Illinois. The accident began at approximately 7:45 a.m. when Latina Allen, of Indianapolis, and Surinder Gill, of Fontana, CA, were traveling on I-70. Allen had come to a stop in response to a previous crash along the same stretch of highway, and Gill struck Allen’s trailer from the rear. Allen was injured, and had to be transported to Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. Gill was cited for failing to respond to road conditions accordingly.
A car wreck can be a frightening and even deeply traumatic experience, especially when it involves a large commercial vehicle like a tractor-trailer of big-rig. We at the law offices of Kevin J. Roach wish all parties a quick and thorough recovery.
Illinois offers a comprehensive system of personal injury law meant to protect persons who are injured through another party’s negligence. Here, Gill and his employers are likely at fault both civilly and criminally and Latina Allen and her employers would be entitled to compensation for any lost wages, pain and suffering, damaged property, and medical bills incurred as a result of the accident.
