Ford County, Illinois (January 5, 2018) – Authorities have identified two people who were fatally injured following a head-on crash in Gibson City, southern Ford County late Thursday morning as 21-year-old Kelsey Bridgwater Fottler, of Saybrook and Jesse Charly Jeannine, 24, of Jacksonville, Florida.

The deadly crash took place on Thursday, January 4, on Illinois Route east of Gibson City and north of Saybrook, about three miles southeast of Elliot

Illinois State Police said Bridgwater was operating a Mitsubishi convertible on Illinois 9 at 1300 East Road when she lost control of her car and struck a semi, driven by driven by Floyd P. Smith, 53, of Fairborn, Ohio head-on

According to the report, Fottler and Jeannine, who have been identified to be cousins, were pronounced dead at the scene while Smith was not injured.

An autopsy to determine the death of the victim has been scheduled to be done in Champaign County, police said.

The road was reportedly closed for about five hours during an investigation.
