Ripley County, Missouri (February 8, 2018) – Four people were injured in a crash involving two vehicles on Thursday morning in Ripley County, according to MSHP.

The crash occurred at around 7:25 a.m. on U.S. Highway 160, approximately 5 miles west of Doniphan.

A 2000 Ford Taurus was traveling eastbound on U.S. 160 when it started slowing down for a tractor-trailer and was rear-ended by a 2008 GMC Yukon.

The force of the crash pushed the Ford off the left shoulder of the roadway where it overturned and struck a tree.

The driver of the Ford, Kelly Brewer, 29, of Doniphan, was not injured. His passenger, Kaitlyn Shipman, 10, also of Doniphan sustained moderate injuries. Two other passengers, Joseph Shipman, 8, and Melissa Shipman, 9, both of Doniphan, suffered minor injuries.

The three were transported to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, troopers said.

The driver of the GMC, Jennifer Johannsen, 40, of Doniphan was treated for minor injuries at Poplar Bluff Regional.

Both vehicles were totaled.
