Joyce Kagogo Injured in 2-Vehicle Wreck on U.S. 54 in Cole County

Cole County, Missouri (February 5, 2018) – A Springfield woman was on Sunday afternoon injured in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 54 in Cole County, according to authorities.

The incident took place on U.S. Highway 54, just west of Old Bass Road at about 2:12 p.m. Sunday, February 4.

Police said a 2015 Chrysler 200 was traveling westbound on U.S. 54 when the driver, Deaudrena L. Vaughn, 21, of Springfield, lost control on the icy road and slammed into the back of a 2012 Honda Civic parked along the highway.

The driver of the Honda, Joyce W. Kagogo, 20, of Springfield, was wearing a seatbelt and was rushed to Capital Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.

Vaughn was also wearing a safety belt and was unhurt.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Kendall’s Towing.
