Joseph and Lisa Smith injured in Jasper county collission

On Saturday, June 2, Joseph and Lisa Smith, residents of Granby, were injured in an accident on MO 9 five miles South of Carthage. The accident began at approximately 2:00 pm when a truck operated by Sylvia Sacco of Wheeling, WV, failed to stop and struck the Smith’s from behind as they themselves were stopped in the road. The Smiths were forced from the road and their vehicle overturned before coming to a rest along the highway. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the Smiths suffered moderate injuries. Ms. Sacco did not require medical attention, and all parties were wearing their safety belts at the time of the incident.

The Legal Claims

Missouri offers a comprehensive system of personal injury law meant to protect persons who are injured through another party’s negligence. Here, Ms. Sacco is likely at fault and the Smiths would be entitled to payment for any lost wages, pain and suffering, damaged property, and medical bills incurred as a result of the accident.
