Nebraska Woman Jolene Greise Injured in Franklin County Five-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 44
Jolene Greise Seriously Hurt in Multi-Vehicle Collision on Westbound I-44 in Franklin County
Franklin County, Missouri (February 12, 2018) – A Nebraska woman was rushed to a hospital after being involved in a multi-vehicle accident on Saturday night in Franklin County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on westbound Interstate 44 at Mile Marker 224.8 around 9:19 p.m. on Saturday, February 10.
Troopers reported that a 2018 Volvo model 860 driven by Jaswinder S. Singh, 39, of Phoenix, Ar., was traveling westbound on I-44 when he crossed the median and stopped in the eastbound lanes.
A 2017 Peterbilt Conventional driven by Michael E. Rex, 65, of Forland, was heading east on I-44 when he drifted to the left in an attempt to avoid a crash with the Volvo and also crossed the median, coming to a rest in the westbound lanes.
Jolene E. Greise, 54, of Cozad, Ne., was driving a 2013 Freightliner Cascadia eastbound on I-44 in the right lane and moved to the left lane to avoid the Volvo’s towed unit. She then drifted leftwards and crossed the median into the westbound lanes and struck the bridge support column.
A 2018 Freightliner Conventional driven by Amolakdeep S. Bhullar, 31, of Bakersfield, Ca., was traveling westbound and veered off the roadway to avoid the Cascadia and collided with the rear of its towed unit.
Aaron M. Stoltzfus, 27, of Simpsonville, Sc., was the driver of a 2016 Freightliner Conventional that was heading west on I-44 and collided with the Cascadia.
Greise was seriously hurt in the accident and was taken to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital by Missouri Baptist Ems.
No other injuries were reported.
All drivers of the five vehicles had their safety belts on.
