John Smith, 56, Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on 395th Street Near Ford City

Gentry County, Missouri (December 29, 2017) – One Man was injured Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Gentry County, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash took place at about 1:05 p.m. on 395th Street east of Route AA, approximately 2 miles north of Ford City, authorities said.

According to MSHP, a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by John A. Smith, 56, of Albany, was traveling eastbound on 395th Street when it crossed over the snow and ice-covered roadway on a hill crest and struck a westbound 2013 Toyota Tacoma pickup head-on.

The Chevrolet came to rest on its wheels facing northeast. The Tacoma, driven by Kenneth A. Sill, 88, of St. Joseph, MO, rotated clockwise and traveled off the north side of the roadway, then returned to the roadway and traveled westbound, before coming to rest on its wheels facing east in the westbound lane.

Smith suffered moderated injuries and was transported by Grand River EMS to Mosaic Life Carte in St. Joseph. Sill was not hurt in the crash.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
