John Kilbreth Injured in Two-Vehicle Accident on Route E in Bollinger County

Bollinger County, Missouri (January 19, 2018) – One person was injured when two vehicles collided as one was attempting to overtake the other near Zalma on Wednesday, according to a police report.

The accident happened at around noon Wednesday, January 17, on Route E, about 4 miles west of Zalma.

According to state troopers, the crash occurred when John F. Kilbreth, 55, of Zalma was driving a 2000 Chevrolet pickup eastbound on Route E and attempted to overtake a 1998 Jeep Cherokee as the two vehicles were making a turn onto a private driveway.

Kilbreth was transported by an ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center Cape Girardeau with moderate injuries.

The driver of the Jeep was identified as Martin N. Shelby, 49, also of Zalma, and was unhurt in the crash.

The Jeep was driven from the scene by Shelby’s relative with extensive damage.

Kilbreth’s pickup was towed by Sam’s Wrecker Puxico with moderate damage.
