Joanna Hedge Killed, Betty Findley and George Findley Injured in 2-Car Crash on US-60 in Carter County
Carter County, Missouri (February 1, 2018) – A 23-year-old Grandin woman was fatally injured in a crash between two vehicles on Wednesday night in Carter County.
Joanna C. Hedge died in the accident that took place at around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, on U.S. Highway 60 at Route A in Ellsinore.
According to troopers, Hedge was driving a 2006 Ford northbound on Route A when she failed to yield and was struck by a 2005 Kia Sorento, driven westbound on U.S. 60 by George P. Findley, 85, of Licking.
Hedge was not wearing a seatbelt and was rushed to Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 10:48 p.m.
Findley was wearing a seatbelt and suffered moderate injuries. His passenger, Betty J. Findley, 78, of Licking, was not wearing a safety belt and sustained serious injuries. They were both transported to Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene with total damage.
