Jesse Andrews Killed in Greene County Car-Bicycle Crash on U.S. 160 near Springfield

Greene County, Missouri (January 18, 2018) – A 30-year-old man riding a bicycle was struck and killed by a car on Wednesday night in Greene County, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at around 9:24 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, on U.S. Highway 160 just south of Springfield.

Troopers said Jesse A. Andrews, 30, of Springfield, was riding a Mongooses Excursion Pedalcycle in the driving lane of northbound U.S. 160 when he was struck by a 2010 GMC Acadia, driven by Billy F. Vansickel, 64, of Highlandville.

Andrews was rushed to Cox South Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after.

No other injuries were reported from the accident.
