Jennifer Petersen, 39, Injured in Crash Involving Ogle County Sheriff’s Department Patrol Car at Illinois 251 and Flagg Road

Rochelle, Illinois (December 27, 2017) – A 39-year-old Rochelle woman was sustained non-life-threatening injuries when her car collided with an Ogle County Sheriff’s Department squad car on Christmas day, police said.

The crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. Monday, December 25, at Illinois 251 and Flagg Road.

Illinois State Police said the crash involved two vehicles, a 2014 Dodge Charger patrol and a 2016 Chevy Malibu.

According to investigators report, the patrol car was traveling south on 251 with lights and sirens activated when it collided with the Malibu which was driven westbound on Flagg Road by Jennifer A. Petersen, 39, of Rochelle.

Police said Petersen suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and was transported to a hospital for treatment while the Ogle County deputy who was traveling in the patrol car was not hurt

An investigation into the collision remained underway.
