Jennifer K. Owens, Bryan Beamer, injured in Jasper county car wreck

On Saturday, June 2, at approximately 9:30 am Jennifer K. Owens, 38, of Carthage, and Bryan Beamer, 49, of Monument, CO, were both injured in a multi-car accident on Highway 96, twelve miles east of Carthage. The accident began when a vehicle operated by Brandon Hawley, 19, of Dixen, crossed the center line and struck Ms. Owens. Ms. Owens lost control, overcorrected, and struck Mr. Beamer in turn. According to the official crash report, Ms. Owens suffered minor injuries with Mr. Beamer’s condition being determined as serious. Both were transported to Mercy Hospital for further observation and treatment. Mr. Hawley was unharmed.
