On Sunday, September 30, 56-year-old Jeffery Bruce of Roxana, Ill, was injured in a crash involving a tractor-trailer on US-61 one mile north of Route OO.
The accident began at approximately 11:55 AM when a Dodge Caravan driven by Delbert Blackard, 35, of Florissant, struck Mr. Bruce’s big-rig as he attempted to change lanes–forcing Mr. Bruce’s rig off the right side of the road where it flipped onto it’s side.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Mr. Bruce had to be transported via LifeFlight emergency helicopter to nearby Barnes Jewish Hospital for life saving medical intervention.
No other drivers or occupants were injured in the accident.
