Jane Pelcznski Hurt in Head-On Collision on Illinois 15 in Washington County
Washington County, Illinois (February 9, 2018) – An Ashley woman was hospitalized following a head-on collision in Washington County on Thursday morning, according to a news release by the Illinois State Police.
The accident happened at about 9 a.m. February 8, on Illinois 15 between Beaucoup and Ashley.
The report indicated that 28-year-old Holly Reinheimer, of Freeburg, was driving a 2016 Toyota Camry eastbound on Illinois 15 and had been attempting to pass several vehicles when the Camry collided head-on with a westbound 2017 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Jane Pelcznski, 72, of Ashley.
The Equinox reportedly overturned after the collision.
As per the report, Pelcznski sustained major injuries and was airlifted to a regional hospital while Reinheimer was unhurt.
Police said Reinheimer was cited for traffic violations.
An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
