Lawrence County, Missouri (March 4, 2018) – A 23-year-old man was taken to a hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Lawrence County on Friday night.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 9:47 p.m. Friday, March 2, on Lawrence 1200 approximately 25 miles south of Aurora.

It’s unclear whether James R. Wichman was walking along the road or attempting to cross when he was hit by a northbound Ford Ranger, driven by 18-year-old Kyler A. Lamastus of Aurora.

Wichman, an Aurora man, was taken by ambulance to Mercy in Joplin with minor injuries.

No other injuries were reported.
