James E. Welsch Jr. and Aedan Welsch Injured in St. Louis County Car Wreck on I-55
St. Louis County, Missouri (March 2, 2018) – A driver and a passenger were injured on Thursday afternoon in a wreck between two cars in St. Louis County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at about 1:40 p.m. Thursday, March 1 on Interstate 55 north of Bayless Avenue.
Troopers said the driver of a 2011 Toyota Camry was heading north on I-55 when the driver stopped due to an unknown object in the roadway. A 2005 GMC Canyon that was traveling behind attempted to drift to the left to avoid crashing into her Camry but ended up striking the left rear of the vehicle.
The driver of the GMC, James E. Welsch Jr., 42, of Festus, and his passenger, Aedan Welsch, 4, also of Festus, were both taken to St. Anthony’s Medical Center with minor injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
Both vehicles were transported from the scene with moderate damage.
