Jacob Gianino, Benjamin Hobson among 4 Injured in Franklin County Car Crash on I-44

Franklin County, Missouri (February 1, 2018) – A two-vehicle accident left four people hospitalized on Wednesday evening in Franklin County, according to MSHP.

The incident happened at around 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, on westbound Interstate 44 at Mile Marker 236.

Jacob R. Gianino, 26, of St. Louis was driving a 2007 Ford Ranger eastbound on I-44 when he traveled across the median into the westbound side and collided head-on with a 2005 Ford Explorer, being driven by Julieana M. Lowe, 26, of Salem.

Gianino was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported by Air Evac to Mercy Hospital St. Louis with serious injuries.

Lowe and her passengers, Benjamin Hobson, 6, and Brian A. Hobson, 33, all of Salem, were wearing their seatbelts and were transported by ground ambulance to Mercy Hospital Washington. The three were also treated for serious injuries.

Both vehicles were totaled.
