On Thursday, September 27, 52-year old Greg Harl of Niota, IL, was injured in a multi-vehicle accident involving a street-sweeper on US-61, 4 miles south of Wayland in Clark County.
The accident occurred at approximately 5:40 PM when Kenneth Reichert, 61, of North Liberty, IA, failed to yield sending his 2018 Chevy Equinox into the rear-end of the 1996 Broce RC300 street sweeper Mr. Harl was operating at the time of the collision. The collision ejected Mr. Harl.
According to the official crash report Mr. Harl suffered serious, life threatening, injury and had to be rushed to Blessing Hospital via the Clark County Ambulance Service for emergency medical intervention. Mr. Reichert was unharmed in the incident. Both drivers were wearing their safety belts at the time of the accident.
Both vehicles suffered extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene.
No other parties were injured in the collision.
