Gary Jewell Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Route AA in Lexington County

Lexington County, Missouri (January 4, 2018) – A two-vehicle collision left a woman nursing moderate injuries on Wednesday afternoon in Lexington County, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at around 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, on Route AA at Northwest 370th Road.

Troopers said 62-year-old Merna J. Scarborough of Lexington was driving a 2014 Fiat northbound on Route AA when she attempted to turn left at Northwest 370th Road, and entered into the path of a southbound 2016 Ford driven by 61-year-old Mary J. Cotter of Kingsville.

The Ford struck the Fiat and pushed it off the west side of the roadway where it hit a fence and came to a stop at a field.

A passenger in Scarborough’s vehicle, 74-year-old Gary L. Jewell of Kingsville, was transported to Centerpoint Hospital, Independence with moderate injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

All occupants of the two vehicles were wearing their seatbelts.
