Franklin Copeland, Margaret Copeland Injured in Newton County Crash on Palm Drive
Newton County, Missouri (February 7, 2018) – A two-vehicle accident left two Neosho residents injured on Sunday afternoon in Newton County, the Missouri State Patrol reported.
The wreck took place at around 3:20 p.m. Sunday, February 4, on Palm Drive at U.S. 60.
Franklin D. Copeland, 81, of Neosho was driving a 2013 Subaru Outback eastbound on Palm Drive when he collided with a westbound 2000 Ford F-150, driven by Lea A. Brown, 42, of Sapulpa, Ok.
Copeland and his passenger, Margaret L. Copeland, 75, also of Neosho, were both transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin with moderate injuries.
Brown was not injured.
Troopers said the slick road conditions might have contributed to the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
