St. Louis, Missouri (January 15, 2018) – An Illinois teenager was injured late Thursday night when she lost control of her vehicle and was rear-ended on Interstate 70 in St. Louis County, authorities said.

The crash occurred at around 11:02 p.m. Thursday, January 11, on Interstate 70 at Jennings Station Road.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, 17-year-old Erica R. Hicks of Collinsville, Illinois, was driving a 2001 Subaru Forester eastbound on I-70 when she lost control and traveled off the right side of the roadway, where she struck a guardrail.

The impact pushed the Subaru back onto the roadway and into the path of an eastbound vehicle, which rear-ended the Subaru and left the scene.

Hick was treated for minor injuries at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

Hick’s Subaru was extensively damaged and was towed from the scene by A2B Towing.
