Earle Moote Dies in Pedestrian Crash on 23 W. Exchange Street in Freeport

Rockford, Illinois (February 2, 2018) – A 76-year-old male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries a day after he was struck by a vehicle Monday in Freeport, Rockford, according to a news release from Winnebago County Coroner’s Office.

The deadly pedestrian crash took place on Monday, January 29, near 23 W. Exchange Street in Freeport

The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office report indicated that Earle Moote, 76, of Freeport, was struck by the vehicle near 23 W. Exchange Street in Freeport.

The man suffered injuries and was transported to a Rockford hospital where he succumbed to injuries at around 3 a.m. Tuesday, authorities said.
