On Wednesday, May 23, Drew R. King, 22, of Kirksville, was badly injured in a motorcycle accident on MO 11, 6 miles north of Brashear. The accident began at approximately 7 pm when a vehicle operated by Emily A. Schleffinger crossed the center line and struck Mr. King, who was riding the bike. Mr. King was thrown from the motorcycle, and according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report he had to be flown to the emergency room at University Hospital by AirMed. Ms. Schleffinger was uninjured and she was released at the scene.
