Platte County, Missouri (February 13, 2018) – Two people were hospitalized after a collision at an intersection in Platte County on Tuesday afternoon, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The accident took place at around 12:57 p.m. at the intersection of Interstate 435 and Missouri Route 152.
Troopers said Chauncey E. Gaston, 37, of Kansas City was driving a 1998 Jeep when he failed to stop at a red light and collided with a 2015 Mercedes, driven by Shelby L. Durand, 46, of Platte City.
Gaston and his passenger, Doyle V. Bennett, 57, of Kansas City, were both taken to Truman with moderate injuries.
Durand was unhurt.
Both vehicles were totaled.
