Dezaray Banks Injured in 3-Vehicle Accident on I-70 in St. Louis County

St. Louis County, Missouri (January 2, 2018) – Three vehicles were involved in a crash that injured one person early Monday morning in St. Louis County, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at around 4:15 a.m. Monday, January 1, on Interstate 70, east of Lucas and Hunt Road.

According to police, a vehicle traveling westbound on I-70 rear-ended a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero, driven westbound by Ronnie L. James, 22, Of St. Louis. That vehicle then proceeded to sideswipe the Alero and a 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche, driven by Shawn A. Kohrs, 37, of St. Peters, and was also traveling westbound.

The unidentified vehicle failed to stop after the crash.

James’ vehicle struck a guardrail as he was pulling onto the side of the road. Kohrs also stopped at the side of the road.

James’ passenger, Dezaray R. Banks, 21, of St. Louis, was the only one injured in the crash and was transported by Abbot Ambulance to SSM Health Depaul Hospital with minor injuries.

The two vehicles were driven from the scene.
