Danielle Thornton Injured in Scott County Rear-End Crash on I-55

Scott County, Missouri (January 15, 2018) – a rear-end crash sent a Portageville woman to a hospital on Thursday morning in Scott County, according to MSHP.

The collision occurred on Interstate 55 Northbound at Mile Marker 83 around 11:20 a.m. on Thursday, January 11.

According to troopers, a 2018 Ford F-150 was stopped in a traffic snarl caused by an earlier crash on Interstate 55 when it was rear-ended by a 2007 Ford Explorer.

After the crash, the Ford Explorer went off the right shoulder of the road, where it slammed into a tree.

The driver of the Ford Explorer, Danielle D. Thornton, 32, of Portageville, was transported to St. Francis Hospital by private vehicle. She was treated for minor injuries.

The driver of the Ford F-150 was unhurt in the crash.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Midwest Towing.
