Saline County, Illinois (January 20, 2018) – A 20-year-old Thompsonville woman was fatally injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Saline County, according to a news release from Illinois State Police.

The deadly wreck happened on Friday, January 20, on Illinois Route 34, just north of Webber Cemetery Road in Saline County.

A preliminary investigation by the state police indicated that a 2004 Ford Taurus, driven northbound on Illinois Route 34, just north of Webber Cemetery Road by Danielle P. Steiner, 20, of Thompsonville, crossed the centerline into the northbound lane and in the path of a 1998 International truck.

The driver of the International truck, 47-year-old Marshall W. Cissna, 47, of Nortonville, Kentucky, could not avoid hitting Steiner’s Taurus on the driver’s side door, police said.

Police said Steiner was declared deceased at the scene by the Saline County Coroner’s Office.
