On Saturday, September 29, 24-year old Daniel Capetillo and 73-year old Truman Moore were both injured in a multi-car accident on County Road N-8, just north of the Arkansas state line.
The accident occurred at approximately 7:40 AM when Mr. Capetillo’s vehicle crossed over the center line and struck Mr. Moore head on.
According to the official crash report Ms. Moore suffered serious, life threatening injury, and had to be transported to the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. Capetillo suffered minor injuries and was taken to Poplar Bluff by private conveyance. Neither driver was wearing their safety belt at the time of the incident, and authorities believe this fact may have played a contributing role in the severity of Mr. Moore’s injuries.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
