Union, Missouri (January 18, 2018) – A person who was killed in a three-vehicle collision in Union Wednesday afternoon has been identified as 18-year-old Cohlin Tindle, of Wentzville, according to Union Police.

The fatal crash happened at around 1:38 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, on Highway 47 the South Union.

According to Union police investigation report, a 2005 Ford Focus, driven by Tindle southbound on Highway 47 south of Highway 50, crossed the center line and hit a northbound 2008 Ford Taurus X driven by Lamanda G. Huff, 38, St. Clair.

The report showed that Tindle’s car proceeded southbound in the northbound lane after the crash where it struck a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu head-on. 60-year-old Mark Haynes of Robertsville was the driver of the Malibu.

Tindle and his passenger, 19-year-old Jeremiah G. Seagraves from Lake St. Louis had to be extracted from their car by medics. The Wentzville man was transported to Mercy Hospital Washington, where he was declared dead while Seagraves was taken to Mercy Hospital Creve Coeur.

Huff’s vehicle had six occupants, Huff, and five child passengers. The report stated that Huff and three children were taken to Mercy Hospital Washington together with Haynes.

Tindle was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash while Haynes, Huff and all passengers were on a safety device.

Police said the highway remained shut for about 4 hours during an investigation. However, the investigation into the deadly wreck is still underway.
