Cassandra Meadors Killed, 2 Injured in Car Crash on Route 59 in Barrington

Barrington, Illinois (February 05, 2018) – According to a local news source, a student at Barrington High School was killed in car accident on Sunday afternoon in Barrington.

The fatal collision occurred at about 3:10 p.m. February 04, on Route 59 between Penny and Barlet roads.

According to the police, Cassandra Meadors was riding in a 2009 Volvo S60 driven by 27-year-old Dana Cibulka.

Cibulka reportedly lost control of the vehicle and veered into the southbound lane and collided with a 2006 BMW X5 driven by Carol Saldek, 56, of Crystal Lake.

Meadows was injured in the collision and was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates along with two other victims.

Sadly, Meadows succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.

The incident resulted in the closure of Route 59 for about six hours.

An investigation is ongoing.
