Candice Kehoe Injured in Crash Involving Truck at I-64 and Illinois 4 Interchange in Mascoutah
Mascoutah, Illinois (February 9, 2018) – A 33-year-old Belleville woman was flown to a hospital following a collision two-vehicle collision in Mascoutah on Friday morning.
According to Mascoutah Police Department, the accident occurred at around 7:20 a.m. February 9, at the Interstate 64 and Illinois 4 interchange.
As per the report, Hamdija Efendic, of St. Louis, had been driving a truck which was hauling a refrigerated trailer when he collided with a 2016 Nissan Versa driven by Candice Kehoe at the intersection.
The impact of the collision reportedly sent the Nissan under the trailer.
Kehoe was airlifted to Saint Louis University Hospital with serious injuries.
Although an investigation is ongoing, Efendic was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign at the intersection.
