Bryce Ash and Kalena Freitas killed in Texas County car accident

On Wednesday, August 15, five Missouri residents were injured, and two–24-year old Bryce Ash and 23-year old Kalena Freitas, were killed in a multi-car accident on Missouri State Highway 63, just north of Cabool, in Texas County.

The accident began at approximately 12:43 PM, when the 2010 Dodge Avenger driven by Mr. Ash skidded across the center line and into oncoming traffic where it struck  a 2017 Ford Flex occupied by Marlyn and Charles Smith, of Eunice.

Mr. Ash was declared deceased at the scene by the Texas county coroner’s office, and Ms. Freitas was declared dead later by doctors at Texas County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Ash’s 3-year old son, Brylon Ash, was also in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Brylon suffered only minor physical injury in the incident.

Ms. Smith suffered serious injury and had to be transported via EMS to Texas County Memorial Hospital for life saving medical intervention. Mr. Smith also suffered moderate injury and had to be transported to hospital for further observation.

It is always unfortunate when a traffic accident ends in the loss of a life. We at the law offices of Kevin J. Roach extend our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of the parties involved.

As a Missouri wrongful death law firm we understand that a family member who has lost a loved one will be experiencing many emotions.  When you contact our firm we will guide you through every step of the legal process and fight for the legal rights of your loved ones.

Our law firm understands that no amount of monetary compensation will bring back your loved one, but we also strongly believe that people must be held accountable for their actions.  Additionally, the money recovered from a Illinois wrongful death lawsuit can assist with any outstanding medical expenses, funeral costs, as well as income replacement if the deceased was the primary income earner.

There are also statutes of limitations within each state that determine how much time you have to file the wrongful death claim. In Missouri, a wrongful death claim can be filed anytime up to three years after the death of the family member.

We can’t bring back your love one but we can help protect your rights and ensure the best possible outcome.  Call today for a free consultation (866) 519-0085
