City of Bolivar, Missouri (March 3, 2018) – A 7-year-old Bolivar R-1 Primary School student was injured after he was hit by a truck after getting off his school bus Thursday afternoon in Bolivar.

The accident took place at around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1, in the area of East South Street and South Albany Avenue.

According to Bolivar Police Department, the boy was crossing the street after getting off a school bus when he was struck by a Westbound a 1999 Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by Gina Stewart, 52, of Bolivar.

The victim sustained moderate injuries in the wreck and was transported by ambulance to Citizens Memorial Hospital for treatment, as per the report.

Police said the school bus had its stop arm extended and sign activated at the time of the collision.
