Benton County, Missouri (February 2, 2018) – A woman was on Thursday afternoon injured when a vehicle she was riding in slammed into the back of a school bus stopped at an intersection in Benton County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 4:14 p.m. Thursday, February 1, on Missouri 52 at North Pine Street.

Troopers said 87-year-old Ivan Zeffer of Stover, was the driver of a 2016 Honda Hatchback traveling westbound on Missouri 52 and approaching the intersection of North Pine Street.

Zeffer failed to control his speed and rear-ended a 2017 Bluebird School bus that was stopped waiting to turn onto North Pine Street.

A passenger in Zeffer’s car, 78-year-old Virginia K. Bobien of Stover, sustained minor injuries. She went to a hospital by private means.

No one was hurt in the school bus.
