Howard County, Missouri (March 2, 2018) – Three people were hospitalized on Thursday evening after a crash involving three vehicles in Howard County.

According to a report by the MSHP, the crash happened on Missouri 5 at County Road 334 around 5:25 p.m. Thursday, March 1.

Troopers said Viola N. Wayland, 16, of Fayette, was driving a 1987 Dodge Ram 250 northbound on MO-5 when she attempted to overtake a 2011 Ford Escape and collided with an oncoming 2001 Infinity 130, driven by Beverly A. Campbell, 81, of Boonville.

The Dodge then struck the rear of the Ford.

Wayland and her passenger, Alexxus T. Roth, 17, of Armstrong, were taken to University Hospital Columbia with moderate injuries.

Campbell suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Cooper County Memorial Hospital.

No other injuries were reported.

The Ford and the Infinity sustained total damage while the Dodge had minor damage.
