On Friday, May 18, at approximately 3 pm Barbara D. Abney, 73, of Aurora and William Proctor, 80, of Columbus, GA, were both injured in a traffic accident on Missouri State Highway 265, just east of Marionville. The accident began when Timothy Villani, 60, of Aurora, merged into Ms. Abney’s lane of travel too soon, causing her to collide with the back of his vehicle. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the parties suffered moderate injuries and had to be transported by ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield, where they were held for observation and further treatment.

A traffic accident can be a frightening and even traumatic experience. We at the law offices of Kevin J. Roach wish all parties a quick and thorough recovery.

The Legal Claims

Missouri offers a comprehensive system of personal injury law meant to protect persons who are injured through another party’s negligence. Here, Mr. Villani is likely at fault and Ms. Abney and Mr. Proctor would be entitled to payment for any lost wages, pain and suffering, damaged property, and medical bills incurred as a result of the accident.
