Annabelle Kovar Killed in Auto-Pedestrian Crash on I-435 in Kansas City

Platte County, Missouri (December 27, 2017) – A Lincoln woman was on Tuesday morning fatally hit by a vehicle while walking from the scene of an earlier crash in Kansas City.

According to troopers, the accident occurred at around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, December 26 on Interstate 435 near Northwest River Bend Road.

The victim, identified as Annabelle F. Kovar, 79, of Lincoln, Neb., was driving southbound on I-435 when her vehicle slid off the icy roadway.

As Kovar was walking towards a tow truck that had been called to the scene, she was struck by another vehicle that slid on the roadway while approaching the scene.

No other injuries were reported from the crash.
