Andre Beckwith Killed, Woman Injured in 5-Vehicle Crash on Lincoln Highway in Matteson

Matteson, Illinois (March 7, 2018) – A 60-year-old man was killed in a multi-vehicle collision which left a woman injured in south suburban Matteson, on Friday evening.

According to Matteson Police, the fatal collision occurred at around 6:05 p.m. Friday, March 2, on Lincoln Highway.

Authorities said that Andre Beckwith of Park Forest was driving his 2007 Mercedes eastbound on Lincoln Highway near Central Avenue when he rear-ended another vehicle and sideswiped three other vehicles.

Beckwith was ejected from his car following the collision.

According to a report by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, Beckwith was rushed to Franciscan Health Olympia Fields where he died a short time later.

A woman also sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Franciscan Health Olympia Fields for treatment.

No other information was provided.
