59-Year-Old Man Killed in Car Crash with Semi-Tractor on Illinois 47 near Dwight
Pontiac, Illinois (December 23, 2017) – A 59-year-old man was on Thursday evening killed in a car crash with a semi-tractor on Illinois Route 47, according to Illinois State Police.
The collision took place at around 6:00 p.m. Thursday, December 21, on Illinois 47, south of Dwight.
Police said the man was driving a car southbound on Illinois 47 when he swerved into the path of oncoming traffic and collided with a semi-tractor.
The car driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the Livingston County Coroner’s office. Details on the identity of the victim were not released.
The driver of the semi was not injured, and an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
