In the early hours of Friday morning, Dennis Hicks, 34, of Bonne Terre, and Elizabeth Lalone, 37, also of Bonne Terre, were injured in a car accident on Highway E near Upper Blackwell Road. The wreck occurred at approximately 6 am, and began when the vehicle Ms. Lalone was travelling in failed to stop at the intersection. The driver of that vehicle, Mr. Jarid Purcell, 39, of St. Clair, was not injured. Ms. Lalone suffered serious injuries and was transported to St. Anthony’s Medical Center by EMS, and Mr. Hicks was also briefly admitted for further observation.
